DEEPMETA 3 - USER GUIDE - LOGIN
Attention
DeepMeta 3 is no longer supported. Please consider moving to the online DeepMeta 4, that runs in the browser.
For details, please check out the blog post: Announcing DeepMeta 4
We will do our best to provide maintenance updates, as long as our development tools allow.
Getty ESP / Contribute login
Before being able to sync or upload your files with DeepMeta, you first need to login to the Getty server.
Required for Core Functionality
Getty ESP login is essential for uploading files and syncing data. This authorization only grants access for upload and sync operations, not financial or personal data.
Initial Login Status
When not yet logged in, you'll see the status "Login failed" or "Click to configure" at the bottom left of the DeepMeta window:

Opening Preferences
Click this status text or icon to open the Preferences window:

The top "ESP" section is where you login to grant DeepMeta access to your Getty ESP / Contribute account. This login will only grant access for upload and sync, it does not allow access to your financial and personal Getty data.
Starting the Login Process
Click the button, labeled "Login (will open your browser)" to start the login. The status text will update and show a progress bar:

Browser Authentication
Your standard internet browser opens (or creates a new tab, if it's already open), showing the login form:

Enter the same credentials as you normally use to login to the Getty Images ESP (Contribute) website and click "Authorize". A confirmation message is shown upon successful login:

Completing the Process
You can now close the browser or browser tab and go back to the DeepMeta Preferences window. It will confirm the successful authorization within a few seconds after the login.

You can now close the Preferences window and start using DeepMeta.
The bottom left status will now show your username:

Persistent Login
Note: DeepMeta will only ask for this login from time to time, or when you've changed your password at the Getty ESP/Contribute site.
iStockphoto and Getty Images login
These can be found on the "Advanced" tab of the "Preferences" window:

iStockphoto Login
Only needed if you want to sync "Boards" you created at the www.istockphoto.com website. If you don't want to do this or don't know what "Boards" are, leave this section empty.
Getty Images Login
Only needed if you want to sync "Boards" you created at the www.gettyimages.com website. If you don't want to do this or don't know what "Boards" are, leave this section empty.
Verification Process
If you want to sync boards with one or both of these websites: enter the username for the website www.istockphoto.com and/or www.gettyimages.com and click the "Verify" button to check. The changes are saved automatically upon closing the Preferences window.
Enable Board Sync
After filling out either of these 2 credentials, you can enable the option "Sync boards" in the DeepMeta "Sync" section, and the boards you created at those websites will be synchronized to DeepMeta.

Password Changes
If you've changed your Getty ESP password, you'll need to re-authenticate through the login process in DeepMeta.
Browser Issues
If the browser login window doesn't appear, check your browser's popup blocker settings and ensure it allows popups from DeepMeta.
Network Connectivity
Ensure you have a stable internet connection during the login process as DeepMeta needs to communicate with Getty's servers.
